The retail stores of Yparos in Parikia and Naousa, located on the picturesque island of Paros, underwent a thoughtful renovation in 2019. The goal was clear: to reimagine the retail environment by blending the island’s Cycladic charm with a bohemian spirit and a refined sense of minimalism that speaks to today’s design-conscious shopper.
With retail stores renovation as the guiding principle, the new interior design concept creates a harmonious dialogue between traditional island materials and modern retail functionality. The stores’ spatial layouts were designed to be open and welcoming, allowing both the merchandise and the space itself to breathe.
At the heart of the design is the use of natural cane, an element that evokes a sense of craftsmanship and warmth. This material is featured prominently on the background walls, creating a subtle yet tactile backdrop that complements the brand’s earthy, relaxed style. Suspended from the ceiling, handwoven pendant lights continue this natural theme, casting a soft glow that enhances the ambiance and highlights the displayed garments.
Functionality meets form in the custom-made rectangular metal structures, which serve as versatile hanging systems for clothing. Their geometric simplicity contrasts beautifully with the organic textures of the cane, creating a visual balance between raw and refined. The accessory displays are composed of minimalist stacking boxes, offering a clean and organized platform for showcasing jewelry, bags, and small items.
Both stores have been designed to allow fluid movement, intuitive browsing, and moments of pause. The result is an environment that encourages visitors to linger, explore, and connect with the Yparos brand in a way that feels both relaxed and memorable.
Through this retail renovation, Yparos reinforces its identity not just as a fashion brand, but as a curator of island lifestyle and design culture. The updated interiors reflect the essence of Paros: simple, timeless, and effortlessly stylish.
