Agiou Nikolaou 41 Glyfada, Athens
This residential building is situated in the south of Athens, near the city center of Glyfada. Designed with a clear architectural language of horizontal layering, the structure features expansive cantilevered slabs that define each level, creating deep overhangs which enhance shading and add dramatic visual depth.
The façade alternates between textured concrete and smooth dark cladding, producing a striking contrast that accentuates the building’s linearity. Full-height glazing opens the interiors to the outdoors, while glass balustrades maintain unobstructed views and reinforce the modernist ethos of transparency and openness. Generous terraces with lush planters on every floor introduce a strong biophilic element, softening the building’s monolithic appearance and connecting residents with the surrounding landscape.
