Tichis st. Residential Building
Located on Tichis Street in the heart of Glyfada, Athens, just steps away from the beachfront, the Tichis St. Residential Building is a landmark example of contemporary urban architecture. Designed by Danai Dios Architecture, the project blends sculptural form, thoughtful materiality, and a strong coastal dialogue, setting a new standard for luxury residential design in seaside Athens.
Coastline urban architecture is shaped by the meeting of natural softness and structural clarity. In the case of Tichis st. Residential Building, this dialogue takes form through sculptural lines, fluid geometries, and an open relationship with the surrounding seascape. The curves are not decorative; they respond to the coastal rhythm, soften the building’s urban presence, and invite light and openness into every level.
Organic Form Meets Urban Clarity
The building’s most defining feature is its fluid, undulating façade, a composition of curved balconies that gracefully wrap around each floor. These architectural gestures introduce a sense of movement, soften the building’s mass, and create a rhythm that resonates with the surrounding coastal environment. By balancing bold horizontal lines with the lightness of curvature, the design achieves an elegant contrast: sculptural yet restrained, iconic yet contextual.
Coastal-Friendly Lines
Expansive glazing opens up the interior spaces to panoramic views of the Aegean Sea, establishing a continuous relationship between inside and outside. The building’s orientation and transparency reflect a clear intention to connect daily living with the natural rhythm of light, water, and sky. The exterior material palette combines neutral surfaces, soft white tones, and coastal-friendly finishes that enhance the fluid lines of the architecture while blending seamlessly into the urban fabric of Glyfada.
